New Year’s resolutions for a new you
New Year’s resolutions are notoriously difficult to follow. By the end of January our gym memberships have been long forgotten in favour of nights on the sofa with some leftover Christmas cake. But despite this we still like to make resolutions every year. So which ones are the most popular and how can you stick to them all year long?
1.) Get healthy
We’d love to tell you there’s a magical solution for getting fit and losing weight, but until they invent biscuits that reduce your calorie intake, we’re going to have to do it the old fashioned way with hard work and exercise. To stick to your healthy eating plans, try writing your goals into a calendar. By breaking up the challenge into 12 monthly chunks, it’ll seem much less daunting and you’re more likely to stick to it. Planning treats and rewards for yourself will also help you keep up the momentum. After all, who can survive winter without a few chunks of chocolate now and again? We predict you’ll be glowing with health by summer and ready to hit the beach.
2.) Kick a bad habit
It might be smoking or it might be biting your nails. Whatever your vice, the New Year always seems like the best time to kick it. One of the easiest resolutions to break, we always seem to find ourselves slipping into old habits by February. This year take a stand and don’t just give up the first time you slip up. Let’s be honest, you’ve got all year to get it right. So if you find yourself having a cheeky cigarette mid March, throw out the rest of the pack and try again. (We promise not to tell!)
3.) Spice up your beauty regime
No matter how much you love beauty products, it’s easy to slip into a boring routine by the end of the year. Luckily you don’t need an expensive trip to the salon to get new hair for 2013. With so many heated styling tools on offer, it’s easy to make big changes to your locks with minimal effort. If you want to keep them soft and shiny whilst you practice your new looks, you could try out the Braun Satin-Hair 7 brush
. Fitted with IONTEC technology, it’s designed to give you shiny healthy hair, an essential if you’re using curlers or straighteners. So get ready to be creative with your styling routine ladies.
