If you are epilating for the first time or if you haven't epilated for a longer period of time, it is a good idea to shave or pre-cut the longer hairs first (with the shaver head and OptiTrim attachement). The ideal length of hair for epilating is between 2 and 5 mm.
Make sure that your skin is completely dry and free from any grease or creams.
Rub your skin beforehand to lift any short hairs to an upright position and guide the epilator against the hair growth in an upwards direction. If needed you can also change the epilation direction to achieve optimal results. When you get to your knee, stretch it out straight.
If you want, you can apply a moisturizer to hydrate the skin after epilating. This will relax the skin and relieve any skin irritation.
Some women do experience skin irriation (reddening) after epilating, therefore if you're planning that all-important night out, you may want to epilate the night before. |
