As water flows through the filter, the activated carbon reduces chlorine tastes and other odors, while the ion exchange resin acts like a magnet, binding to its surface calcium and other materials. This allows coffee unfold its full, seductive aroma while reducing the calcification of the brewing unit. The filter cartridge is designed to last for two months of use. The water filter memory dial placed on top of the coffeemaker serves as a reminder when the water filter should be replaced.
